Embodied Myoreflex Therapy Practitioner Certification (EMP)
Module 1: Myoreflex Therapy (manual trauma & pain therapy)
Module 2: Tensegric Embodiment (neuro-myo-fascial somatic movement education)
EMP is the further education for any dance and movement practitioner, arts and other educator, artist, therapist, social worker wanting to create an effective therapeutic and educational embodied practice. As certified Myoreflex therapist using neuro-myo-fascial movement practice, the EMP is able to release the full range of movement potential of their clients, addressing a wide range of issues from pain, trauma, and functional derailings.
Through integrating elective ImPulsTanz dance and somatic workshops in the EMP curriculum, program graduates build an individual professional profile transcending the therapeutic aspects, being able to apply the detailed physiological knowledge in other settings, such as educational, artistic, and community work. The sensing, thinking and feeling bodies of both EMP and client unfold abundant inner and outer relationships, stimulating agency and response-ability. Together they create an eco-somatic habitat - a tensegric embodiment.
Program teachers are trailblazers in their areas of specialization. They make use of decades long teaching experience, and are committed to lerner- and process- oriented approaches and to reflective communication.

Extended Myoreflex Therapy Module (270 hours)
- Introduction to relevant anatomical, physiological, pathological concepts
- Basic principles of Myoreflex Therapy
- Anatomy and functional anatomy in relation to Myoreflex Therapy
- Introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in relation to Myoreflex Therapy
- Biomechanics and its therapeutic application
- Fundamentals of general and specialized neurophysiology and neuroanatomy
- Pain models with horizontal and vertical networking theories
- Simulated movement
- Preparing the way toward a new understanding of illness patterns and their treatment
- Intensive, targeted practical introduction in small groups to the treatment of specific illness patterns
- Presentation models
- Relevant anatomy from the perspective of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
- Psychotraumatology
- Fundamentals of neuromuscular trauma therapy (NMTT)
- Conceptual models in Traditional Chinese Medicine
- Myoreflex Therapy in pediatrics and neurology
- Myoreflex Therapy as a networked treatment model with internal medicine and surgery
- Myoreflex Therapy for psychosomatic illnesses
- Practice sessions and reflections
- Ethics of Practice, Therapeutical conducts
- Final examination with certification as a Myoreflex Therapist (theory and practice)
Tensegric Embodiment Module (280 hours)
- Anatomy trains (myofascial lines) in movement
- Tensegrity: islands of compression in an ocean of tension
- The psoas connection
- Myofascial tonus modulation
- Liquid crystal: fluid movement – myofascia in communication and transformation
- Somatic-based improvisation and composition
- Translating touch into movement (and back)
- Movement analysis
- Didactics of somatics (student-centered learning and teaching)
- Practices of attention
- How to use somatics to produce knowledge (Introduction to a Philosophy of somatics)
- How to apply physiological research in movement / dance practice
- The body in its eco-somatic habitat (Site-responsive & relational aspects of myofascia)
- The 5 elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine in movement
- A brief history on somatics including non-Western approaches
- Elective workshops: Alexander Technique, Body-Mind Centering, Feldenkrais and other somatic courses at ImPulsTanz Vienna International Dance Festival
- Group process / non-violent communication
- Internship / practice of teaching
